TCF

Imagine this scenario in a classroom - students yakking, yawning, fingers fiddling, eyes closing and brain misbehaving. Boredom, restlessness and disinterest couldn't have been more obviously stamped on their faces! The one (me) who aspires to become a great teacher is drowning..

This is a bad sign:

Waiting for Friday!

I attended a motivation seminar organised by Teachers' Christian Fellowship.

Speaker Dr Law Guat Tin from Singapore

She said kids nowadays are demanding, thankless, stressful, bored and

SMART TOO!

so what to do with kids that are demanding, thankless, stressful, bored and smart?

the successful speakers mentioned many ways easily but i don't know yet how to apply. those who motivate usually nearly retire. If im able to manage these kids by the age 40 can consider successful? :p

is she a successful speaker or a successful teacher? -> must prove with problematic students!

i noticed that almost all guru cemerlang in the school are teaching science stream students which are so easy to handle. i wonder if they can handle the weaker classes too.

agree. unless they can handle poor classes very well, then I really salute them.

I never bother when the 'atasan' nag that we should treat students as our own children, bla bla bla.
If only they can prove to us, I'd say its all bull shit. walk the talk, and not talk the walk!

ooops, pardon me for the harsh words. :p

Kids are extreamly smart nowadays. Some people commented that it is because of the milk powder. Certain chemical makes the brain functions "smart". Do you agree? I am not really agree on that. There could be many factors which cause a kid being thankless or extreamly rebelious.

Tell you something, one of my students (mind you, that kid only 4years old) can teach me how to use toilet in a proper way. She learnt all those advises from the elders at home. I was bit -_-lll. Kids~

ris, the milk powder do make a difference. its way too 'nutritious'.
esp for Chinese, we'd give the best we can, right?
my Malay colleagues said that Chinese nowadays give birth to heavy babies. they've got so much nutrient even in the womb!
there is a difference made due to milk powder.
another thing, parents nowadays get more and more 'kiasu', they start to train their child to become genius even when they are babies.

i think it's because they are in high-tech modern century. everything is 'blinking' nowadays -gadgets, hp, camera, computer, games... that's why they cannot learn passively or sit still unless teachers are 'blinking' too. agree?

I think we are all toys, played by those sitting in air con room. (ok i know you also sit in air con room :p)

Press a button, you can change mode to BM, then press another button, you can change mode to BI. What a great joke.

Kids at 3 years old already can play pc games very well!
Our forum got a number of 7 years old kids!
Can't imagine what the world is going to be.
