I tend to forget that students are my customers, if not our beloved principal reminding us once a while. Is that mean they are always waiting to be well served?

How about the phrase
“The customer is always right” which was originally coined by Harry Gordon Selfridge, the founder of Selfridge’s department store in London in 1909.

doesn't make sense, but you should be pretty used to it; after all we were brought up with "elders always right" - which i always rebel against.
